Just thought I would post a quick note about what we've been up to lately... Matthew and Johnathan both are doing extrememly well in school. Any low marks they received were simply due to problems staying on task in class, or getting started on their work in a reasonable amount of time. I'm continueing to love my work at Woodruff Elementary (where the boys go to school.) I teach in a 4th grade classroom and am working with a wonderful teacher there. She is amazing! I'm hoping that Matthew will get her next year as she will be good at getting him to stay on task and learn I think. (Of course working with the 4th grade you kind of get the insider's view and I would be happy for Matthew to have any of the 4th grade teachers as they are all excellent, I just think Ms. Christensen's style of teaching is best suited for Matthew.)
Anyway, I'm sure you're getting an idea why I named the blog "Reddigs Ramblings" as I tend to ramble on and on... Gene continues to enjoy his work for Sharp and we are all LOVING having him home with us every night. Makes us feel more like what a family should feel like--together! I am finishing up getting my daycare license renewed which is always a ton of paperwork to get done. Bleck. Not my favorite thing to do. The twins are enjoying Montessori School and seem to be flourshing there. (Which is no big surprise since I have always loved the director and teachers there and think they do a marvelous job guiding pre-schoolers.) Andrew loves to tell stories. His latest was so funny...one of his teachers came up to me on the playground and said, "I have to ask you something, is your husband allergic to cows?" I gave her a puzzled look and said, "No, not that I'm aware of..." She went on to tell me that Andrew comes in everyday and says that his dad is allergic to cows and that when he gets near one it makes him sneeze. I just laughed and laughed. I'm not sure where he gets his imagination from, but he may be on the road to becoming another writer like Matthew, me and his Grandpa Bill. He also seems to favor his left hand, another trait shared with me, Aunt Kymmie and Grandpa Bill. Alex continues to be a very girly girl, which I love. She loves to wear tights and dresses and to have her hair done by me, though she is very particular about how it should be, whether with a hairband, or up in a ponytail, or with bows, etc. She can also be quite stubborn and I can't imagine where that tendency comes from! (hahaha) She is starting to recognize letters already which is sooner than any of the boys did, and seems to know that letters go together to spell words. Its quite an honor (and major responsibility) to be the mother of such intelligent, wonderful kids.
Well I have rambled on long enough. We went to the train show this past weekend. My mom took pictures as did we. Someday I'll get them uploaded to Kodakgallery, but not tonight... The boys have a cub scout Pinewood Derby where they design, make and race vehicles. We've been decorating them and will be racing them in about 2 weeks. The boys have really been enjoying scouts, and I couldn't be prouder of them.
Sorry this has been so long, but obviously I had a lot of stuff to update. (And I like to write... I know, I know, I need to write a book... maybe someday) Hope today finds you happy and healthy.
