Oh my goodness, where does the time go?

Well, reading my last post it was getting into May and now I've blinked and here it is the middle of June! The boys finished up school, and now I'm in shock that I have a second grader and a fourth grader. They did really well with their end of level tests. I can't help but brag, Matthew received an award for last year's tests. He scored in the top 10 percent in the country for students his age in science and language arts. Wow. That still amazes me. Maybe Poppa will have an engineer in the family after all... Johnathan is reading up a storm, though its not his activity of choice. He is also quite the math whiz kid. Andrew is a talker and loves to make sense of the world around him. He's pretty perceptive too which keeps me on my toes. I think he is going to be my left handed kid, at least he seems to favor his left right now. Alexandra is my girlie girl through and through and I must say its a good thing I only have one girl. She is very opinionated and a bit stubborn. (Now where could she get those traits from I wonder?) She is also a natural mommy and loves to care for the younger kids in the daycare. She loves to look pretty which I find so cute... the minute she arrives at pre-school she runs up to her friends and wants to see what they are wearing and to compare with them. Hopefully this won't haunt her when she gets older. I am trying to instill a sense of confidence and strength in her. Hopefully she will be the one that others want to emulate. She is already showing a great interest in letters and reading which is much sooner than her brothers ever did. I am hoping she will be a reader like her mommy. My boys prefer to read non-fiction informational texts and magazines. I love the science fiction/fantasy like The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and Harry Potter. We are doing our summer reading from Harry Potter at the moment since that's what I want to read aloud from.

Well, so far we are enjoying our summer, though the weather has been rather cool and rainy. The boys are going to a playground day camp and seem to really enjoy it. My daycare numbers are low at the moment, which is good for free time, but not so good financially. Well, I guess I've finally run out of things to ramble on about, so I'll sign off...

  1. It's so fun to have a girly girl isn't it? It depends on my girls moods and whims... but on the most I know I have at least 1 girlie girl most of the time! hahaha Does that make sense! Tell Matty Matt & Johnny I am sure proud of them! And I love alll of them (you) so much!
